Originality & Plagiarism

Plagiarism Policy
All manuscripts submitted to the Malaysian Journal of Health Promotion (MJHP) must be original and must not have been previously published, in whole or in substantial part, or be under concurrent consideration by another publication. Authors are responsible for ensuring that all sources, ideas, data, and materials derived from other works are properly acknowledged and cited.
01   Similarity Screening
All submitted manuscripts undergo plagiarism and similarity screening. The journal permits a similarity index of up to 30%, provided that the overlapping text is appropriately cited and is not concentrated within a single section of the manuscript.
02   Plagiarism, Duplicate Publication, and Text Recycling
Manuscripts exceeding the permitted similarity threshold, or those found to contain plagiarism, duplicate publication, inappropriate text recycling, fabrication, or falsification, may be rejected. Authors bear responsibility for ensuring the originality, authenticity, and integrity of their submitted work.
03   Confirmed Misconduct
Verified cases of plagiarism or other ethical misconduct may result in appropriate corrective action in accordance with established publication ethics standards. Actions may include manuscript rejection, correction or retraction of a published article, and, where appropriate, notification of the authors' affiliated institutions.
Author Responsibility
Authors are responsible for ensuring that their manuscripts are original, appropriately referenced, and free from plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, duplicate publication, and inappropriate text recycling.
