Peer Review Process

Peer Review and Publication Process
The Malaysian Journal of Health Promotion (MJHP) adheres to a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the quality, integrity, and relevance of published work.
01   Initial Screening
All submissions undergo an initial editorial evaluation to assess their alignment with the journal's scope, compliance with submission guidelines, and overall quality. Manuscripts that do not meet these requirements may be returned to the authors for revision, while manuscripts that fulfil the requirements will proceed to the formal peer-review stage.
02   Double-Blind Peer Review
Manuscripts that pass the initial screening are sent to at least two experienced internal or external experts in the relevant field. MJHP employs a double-blind peer-review process, whereby the identities of both authors and reviewers remain anonymous throughout the review process.
03   Editorial Decision
Following the peer-review process, the Editor-in-Chief or a designated Executive Editor will make an editorial decision based on the reviewers' evaluations and recommendations.
Accept Minor Revision Major Revision Reject
04   Revision and Resubmission
Authors are expected to address the reviewers' comments and submit the revised manuscript within the stipulated deadline. The editorial team reserves the right to send a revised manuscript for further evaluation by the reviewers where additional assessment is considered necessary.
05   Final Acceptance and Publication
Once accepted, articles proceed to copyediting and production. The final articles are published online through the Institute's official journal platform. Print editions are also made available to authors.
Publication Timeline
The submission-to-publication process typically takes a minimum of three months, depending on the extent of revisions required during the peer-review process.
